Casa introduces new cable platform

Casa Systems has introduced the Casa C2200 Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS), a compact device for delivering bandwidth-intensive broadband services.

The wideband DOCSIS-optimized Casa C2200 architecture offers cable operators bandwidth flexibility with independent CMTS downstream and upstream modules. The system is capable of supporting channel bonding of up to 16 downstream channels and up to eight upstream channels.

With the standards-based DOCSIS 3.0 implementation, the C2200 can interoperate with a range of cable modems that support channel bonding.

Casa has also introduced its C2150 Downstream Digital Cable Termination System, a multipurpose “edge-QAM” platform that allows cable operators to deliver both video-over-IP services and MPEG video services simultaneously.

By supporting dynamic bandwidth resource allocation and multicasting according to user demand, the C2150 is suitable for switched digital video.

Casa products are backed by SeaChange International’s worldwide service organization. SeaChange maintains exclusive distribution rights to all Casa Systems products in North America and currently markets, sells and supports the entire product line globally.
