Broadcast Pix to introduce Slate 2100 production switcher

Broadcast Pix will introduce the Slate 2100 live production switcher, which offers all the features of the Slate 1000 switcher, including built-in character generator, clip store and full-motion monitoring. It also adds a variety of other features to address the demands of live television production.

The Slate 2100 features eight live video inputs — which can optionally be increased to 10 — fail-safe switching, a dual-channel clip store, a fourth keyer, tally and AES/EBU audio. Unlike conventional switchers, all inputs can be devoted to cameras and other live devices because none are taken up by the CG, still store and clips stores built into the system. Slate switchers also have built-in frame synchronizers allowing Slate inputs to be either genlocked broadcast equipment or an asynchronous source, such as a DVD player.
