BBC Research analyzes signals with Leader

Citing its ability to handle native 1080p/50 signals via dual-link capability, BBC Research in the UK is using Leader’s LV5800 modular multistandard signal analyzer to support its ongoing research into HDTV program production and delivery. The BBC also purchased a Leader LV5700 scope in 2005.

Leader’s LV5800 allows multiple SDI or HD-SDI sources to be analyzed simultaneously, enabling the fast and accurate calibration of, for example, incoming camera feeds. Up to eight sources can be monitored simultaneously via alarm settings for level, rise time, fall time and jitter, and up to four channels can be displayed.

Automatic signal detection enables the LV5800 to sense the input format, colorimetry and black burst or tri-level external reference input. A detachable front panel, including a high-quality 1024 x 768 pixel XGA display, can be mounted directly to the body of a camera or on a mobile production vehicle.
