April 9, 2008
One way to judge the latest and greatest new HD-centric technology available is to consider what’s being earmarked for the Olympic International Broadcast Center, a sort of roaming “laboratory” of state-of-the-art technology that is put into place wherever each summer and winter Olympics games is held.

As the 2008 summer games in Beijing quickly approach, the NAB Show will offer an “inside tour” of upcoming Olympics technology from the broadcasters and manufacturers familiar with the cutting-edge equipment—including cameras, graphics, storage, streaming, editing and other technologies geared to live and recorded sports coverage.

The 90-minute session on April 16 at 9 a.m. (LVCC N119) will be moderated by Peter Angell, director of production and programming at Infront Sports and Media. His panelists will include: Chris Cuddihy of Ascent Media; Luc Doneux of EVS Asia; Hugo Gaggioni of Sony Electronics; Eric Hamilton of Apple; and Joe Sidoli of the CBC.
