Leitch Tapped to Equip HD Truck for Mira

Mira Mobile Television has selected Leitch to provide digital processing gear for its new HD production truck, the M-5. Expected to hit the road by November 2004, the M-5 is a 53-foot HD mobile unit with a dual-feed configuration that enables production of two separate programs from the same mobile unit in SD or HD. The truck will be used to cover west coast sporting events for the Seattle Sonics (basketball) and Mariners (baseball) and telecasts for visiting teams.

"Having worked with Leitch on two of our previous mobile units, we were confident in the company's ability to support our efforts," said Frank Taylor, general manager of Mira.

Leitch equipment for the M-5 include Integrator Gold wideband digital multi-rate routing systems; DPS-575 digital processing synchronizers; both 6800+ and NEO modular interface products, a digital video recorder packaged on a single module, master sync pulse generators with HDTV test generator modules and CCS-Pilot software. Mira also purchased Leitch's HUC-3901 HDTV upconverter.
