At NAB2007, Sony Electronics will unveil several new and upgraded products.
A new high-definition version of the Sony Anycast Station system will make its debut. The new HD-only version of Anycast Station (Model AWS-G500HD) is a simplified configuration of its standard-definition predecessor, combining into one package a six-input video switcher, six-stereo channel audio mixer, special effects generator, LCD screen for GUI control and preview/program monitor, control of Sony PTZ robotic cameras, RGB connection for PC and projector display, and an encoder and Web server for delivering streaming media--as well as a stillstore, CG, scale converter and frame synchronizer.
"The system's internal signal processing has been HD-ready since day one," said Tatsuro Kurachi, marketing and business development manager in Sony Electronics' professional audio/video group. "With this new version, end users can now easily migrate from analog to digital or SDI to HD simply by swapping out various modular interface cards."
Sony will also light up NAB with the latest additions to its LUMA line of LCD monitors. The new models include the LMD-2450W 24-inch, the LMD-2050W 20-inch, and the LMD-2030W 20-inch.
The company is also showcasing its new HDXchange system for workgroup collaboration in which video content is shared among many users.
The HDXchange system is a networked IT-based hardware/software suite for managing and sharing SD and HD content from ingest to editing to final output. It provides a catalyst for entry- and mid-level customers who are moving to HD production, and allows users to take advantage of leading NLEs on either Windows or Mac platforms to share video assets and streamline the editing process.
