Meyer Sound Broadens MAPP Online Pro Availability

Sophisticated Web-based acoustical prediction program is now open to all.

Meyer Sound has announced that its MAPP Online Pro acoustical prediction software is now available to everyone, directly from its Web site. Previously, access was limited to those who attended the company’s free professional training seminars. MAPP Online Pro is a Web-based system for accurately predicting the performance of Meyer Sound loudspeakers or arrays in a venue, including coverage pattern, frequency response, impulse response and maximum SPL output.

MAPP Online Pro utilizes a patented Internet-enabled client-server system to allow users to define a loudspeaker system, venue characteristics, and operating environment parameters in a “thin” Java client application running on a laptop or other remote computer using Windows XP Pro or Macintosh OS X. Once a scenario is defined, it takes only one button click to request a prediction. The data is then sent to a high-powered server at Meyer Sound running an acoustical prediction algorithm. The server program draws on a database of high-resolution, complex (magnitude and phase) polar data to generate and return a prediction to the user as a color graphical display.

Meyer Sound refines and upgrades MAPP Online Pro on an ongoing basis, using its Web-based architecture to incorporate most updates automatically when the program is launched.
