WTVR Expands Traffic Reporting with Beat the Traffic

Richmond, Va., CBS affiliate WTVR recently launched its expanded Beat the Traffic reporting using new traffic reporting technology from Triangle Software.

The CBS 6 Beat the Traffic team uses the software to report on road speeds, traffic hot spots, incidents, construction and events to help viewers plan ahead. The system is featured in CBS 6 Beat the Traffic segments during morning and evening commutes and on www.wtvr.com 24/7. CBS 6 Traffic Reporter Amanda Meadows provides point to point trip times and more, along with real-time traffic maps for the Richmond and Washington, D.C., areas. She also maintains a traffic blog on the site.

“We are proud to support CBS 6 and the Richmond region,” said Andre Gueziec, president and CEO of Triangle Software, makers of Beat the Traffic software. “We are excited by the innovative on-air and Web reporting done by CBS 6, and are confident that viewers will appreciate the dynamic, animated road speeds, flows, forecasts, and travel times—a first for the region—and the easy to use Web and mobile traffic maps.”

CBS WTVR is owned by Raycom Media.
