Western Kentucky football kicks off with digital scoreboard experience
Western Kentucky University is the latest school to install HD video boards at its main football stadium. The university is putting in an integrated video, scoring and sound system as part of renovations to L.T. Smith Stadium. The new system will feature the latest in full-color, LED display technology and will be installed prior to the 2007 Hilltoppers’ football season opener.
The system features a Daktronics ProStar VideoPlus display with the capabilities to present live and recorded video images, animation and graphics. The video display will measure approximately 18ft by 31ft with pixels on 23mm spacing.
Below the video display, a custom LED football scoreboard offering vital game information will inform fans. To the left and right of the scoreboard are additional full-color LED displays. These two displays measure approximately 7ft by 18ft each, providing lineups, game statistics and out-of-town game information.
