Weather Channel Unveils Extreme New HD Line-up
By TVTechnology published
The Weather Channel plans to begin airing its first native HD content Oct. 1, starting with the second season of its series “Epic Conditions.” That program chronicles extreme weather conditions that allow for unusual sporting events such as downhill skiing in remote regions only accessible by air or sea.
TWC also will offer a new series, “Weatherventures,” which will spotlight extreme climates in North America. Both series will be simulcast on TWC’s SD and HD channels.
The half-hour programs will air back-to-back on weeknights at 7 p.m. ET (repeating at 11 p.m.), with “Epic Conditions” as the lead-in.
TWC said both HD series are designed to “give viewers their daily shot of weather adrenaline.”
