Vyvx Deploys Phase 2 of HD VenueNet Service

Vyvx--fiber optic and satellite transmission provider--has deployed the second phase of its HD VenueNet service to 28 U.S. sports venues. The service is now available to venues such as Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Madison Square Garden in New York and FedEx Field in Washington, D.C.

Fox Sports is using the service to carry 720p broadcast feeds from stadiums all over the United States to the Fox Network Center in Los Angeles during the 2004 National Football League season.

"We have expanded the service from our initial deployment of 14 football, basketball and baseball venues to include the 14 new NFL venues in support of Fox Sorts plans for producing six NFL games in 720p HDTV each Sunday during the season," said Derek Smith, vice president of Vyvx--based in Tulsa, Okla.
