Vislink/Helinet Systems captures HD in the sky


Vislink/Helinet's takes aerial shots of news and programming in HD.

Vislink/Helinet now offers its Helinet/Cineflex HiDEF, HD recording system designed for difficult aerial shots taken from helicopters for digital newsgathering activities.

Microwave Radio Communications (a Vislink company) provides the microwave transmission technology that enables the live broadcast of HD images.

The system is currently in use at U.S. network television affiliates in New York, Denver, Phoenix and San Francisco. The system also was used for live broadcast feeds during NBA basketball playoff games on TNT. With its robust long-distance image capture capabilities, the Helinet/Cineflex HiDEF platform allows broadcasters to offer never-before-possible aerial images. In addition to television broadcasting, the new camera system also has applications for motion pictures and law enforcement.
