Vislink acquires Pacific Microwave Research

Vislink has reached an agreement to acquire Pacific Microwave Research (PMR), a developer of analog and digital microwave video transmission solutions for law enforcement, homeland security and military applications. The acquisition of PMR is expected to be complete before the end of September.

PMR products are used for video evidence collection, covert surveillance, unmanned ground and aerial vehicle control, and flight test air-to-ground image transmissions. The company’s employees will continue at PMR working with the Vislink Group to capitalize on new opportunities in the law enforcement and homeland security markets both in the United States and internationally.

Chris Durso, president of PMR, said the acquisition by Vislink brings PMR the market reach it never could have achieved as a standalone company

For Vislink, the acquisition adds another microwave transmission supplier to its portfolio while addressing a new market. PMR’s products are synergistic with the homeland security offerings of Microwave Radio Communications, another Vislink company, and open up new revenue opportunities with applications such as the federal government's L-band relocation program.

Vislink also owns Link Research, a wireless camera system manufacturer, and Advent Communications, manufacturer of satellite uplinks.
