Turner Entertainment Group has selected Snell & Wilcox IQ Modular intelligent infrastructure modules for its new HD network.
The two new modules are being used to condition and process HD signals at points in the signal path. The IQ modular units synchronize, distribute and perform audio shuffle, audio embedding and de-embedding functions.
The Turner central equipment room (CER) will be home to the new systems, both of which will reside in new 3RU IQ Modular enclosures and existing ones with the CER that will mix SD and HD modules.
The Snell & Wilcox RollCall Network Management System will control and monitor the high-definition signal path via standard-definition equipment, using a separate signal path that stays within the existing chain of standard-definition equipment.
