Trio Video Uses Grass Gear to Cover Live Entertainment
Trio Video, a Chicago-based mobile production company is increasing its coverage of live music and corporate events with Grass Valley gear.
The company, which recently celebrated its 25 years in business, now operates three HD trucks: “Phoenix,” “Rhythm,” and “Tango,” which collectively use up to 40 Grass Valley LDK 6000 mk II Worldcam HD cameras, three Kalypso HD Video Production Center switchers, and three Trinix HD video routers. Rhythm, the newest truck, is a 53-foot expando, featuring an all-HD infrastructure that includes the Grass Valley GeckoFlex and Kameleon signal processing modules. All multiformat gear can handle 24p as well as 720p and 1080i formats at 30 or 60 fps.
Recently Trio covered the sixth annual Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn. in hi-def, using its three HD production trucks. Trio also deployed Tango, along with the B-unit support truck “Beta” to cover the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., as well as the two-day, four-stage country music festival, Stagecoach, also in Indio.
