Trilogy provides communications gear for CBS News

Trilogy Broadcast's Commander audio communications system

Trilogy Broadcast is supplying its Commander audio communications system for the new European and Middle East base for CBS News.

Based in West London, UK, the new CBS facility will provide a link between CBS New York and its contributors in London and throughout the EAME region.

The system is based on the Commander digital matrix and consists of more than 80 ports. Alongside Commander, approximately 30 conventional intercom panels will be installed throughout the new complex, and Trilogy will provide a touch-screen assignment facility based on a Colledia Control system. This will provide the rapid set up and monitoring of multiple conferences and IFB’s that is crucial to the CBS news operation.

The system will be delivered as part of a phased installation starting in January 2005, with Trilogy providing a complete solution for the live communications links between reporters in the field in London and New York.
