Leveraging the customer enthusiasm for one of its most-recognized strategic brands, Thomson announced on Wednesday that it is changing the name of its Broadcast & Media Solutions business activity to "Grass Valley." Known for creating the Grass Valley broadcast and film production products used by media leaders worldwide, the division also produces video compression and networking, and professional audio video products and services.
The Grass Valley brand is being applied to all activities of the division – including the Web site. The URL www.thomsongrassvalley.com is shifting to www.grassvalley.com. All traffic to the former Web site will be automatically directed to the new site.

This shift is indicative of the commitment Thomson has to the business and the brand,” said Marc Valentin, president of the Grass Valley Business within Thomson. “As we continue serve our traditional markets and expand into new ones, the equity in the Grass Valley brand will continue to be a decisive advantage for Thomson.”
