Baseball’s Giants use Chyron at AT&T Park

Visitors to AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, are now being treated to a wide variety of graphics displayed on the large video screens inside the ballpark courtesy of Chyron systems.

Chyron’s HyperX was used during every home baseball game, as well as the 2007 MLB All-Star Game and for special events, to drive sophisticated lower-thirds for both 16 x 9 and 29 x 9, full-page and side graphics for the stadium’s large-format HD video screen. The HyperX system is installed in the scoreboard control room. Chyron’s partner Diversified Systems installed the system.

Rogers Media chooses Quantel for Sportsnet

Rogers Media is now installing a Quantel Enterprise sQ server-based production system for its Canadian cable TV sports channel, Rogers Sportsnet. Approximately 174,000 people see Rogers Sportsnet daily.

The system, which Rogers Media plans to start rehearsing with in November, will support up to 120 users at a times. Applied Electronics provided the system integration.

The Rogers Media system comprises eight sQ servers (with 1000 hours of HD storage), 84 sQ Views, 14 sQ Edit software and six sQ Edit Plus systems, two sQ Records and four sQ Play seats.

Designed for live broadcasting, Enterprise sQ software systems provide ingest, editing and playout capabilities all in the same box.

“Monday Night Football” features fan-generated videos

This season, ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” telecasts are featuring fan-generated videos, whereby fans are submitting personalized videos promoting their favorite teams’ upcoming appearances and uploading them to the “Monday Night Surround” section on Two videos are selected each week and shown on the air during the weekly game.
