Telestream to Debut News Workflow Products at IBC2004

Telestream will debut Mapone and FlipFactory, its news workflow products, for European broadcasters at IBC2004 next month in Amsterdam.

Mapone is a personal newsgathering application that provides transmission of broadcast-quality media from news laptop systems through standard or wireless IP networks.

"MAPone capitalizes on our automated transcoding and IP transmission expertise to meet these needs with a fast, affordable means for journalists to transmit news clips as soon as they've created them," said Dan Castles, the Nevada City, Calif.-based company's president and CEO.

FlipFactory now automates the process of receiving news content from a number of European digital news delivery services. The application monitors one or more receive servers for the arrival of new content. Then, it automatically flips the news content directly onto leading broadcast servers, stand-alone edit systems and larger networked newsrooms systems.

One of the news models allows users to automatically create low-res proxies in the format required by the proxy editing system, such as Avid's Media Browse and Grass Valley's NewsBrowse.

Telestream will be in Booth 9.220 at IBC2004, Sept. 10-14. For more information, visit http://www.ibc.org/
