Sunflower Broadband uses SeaChange Technology for on-demand launch

The MediaCluster server will bring the Sunflower on-demand service to 30,000 cable subscribers.

Sunflower Broadband has chosen SeaChange International's video-on-demand (VOD) platform for its Sunflower on-demand television service, set to debut in Lawrence, KS, in February. The new service will be available to 30,000 cable subscribers in the nation’s 31st-largest television market.

The on-demand service will initially feature more than 1000 hours of movies and television programs from sources such as NFL Network, HGTV, Food Network, Fine Living, DIY and Showtime.

SeaChange’s VOD System — a comprehensive technology platform incorporating the MediaCluster servers, end-to-end automation software and real-time broadcast recording gear —enables broadband operators to easily initiate and enhance on-demand programming services.
