Strong sales of SSL C Series consoles continues

Solid State Logic (SSL) has noted a strong correlation between the looming changeover to digital broadcasting and continued strong demand for its C Series mixing consoles. Both the C100 and C200 are enjoying attention from a wide variety of installations throughout North America, as shown by numerous recent sales.

CFTM, the flagship station of the trans-Canadian TVA TV network in Montreal, produces nearly 90 percent of the network’s shows. As the audio centerpiece of an HD upgrade, TVA will install a C232 HD digital production console to provide surround mixing capabilities and control of multiple live audio feeds.

WPTV, a Scripps-owned NBC affiliate serving Palm Beach, FL, will install a C132 HD. In August 2007, WPTV became the second Florida station to launch HDTV news, following the lead of Scripps sister station WFTS Tampa, which also has an SSL C132.

KFMB, the CBS affiliate in San Diego, has installed a C124 HD digital console for its live news broadcasts. The C124’s user-friendly console ergonomics provide KFMB engineers with a familiar layout while meeting the needs of their tight installation schedule.

Comcast SportsNet (CSN) New England, which is the broadcast home of the NBA’s Boston Celtics, will install a C132 HD-S to meet its HD broadcast requirements.

KDTX-TV in Dallas will install a C248 HD digital production console at its flagship headquarters for the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). The Christian-based broadcaster was the first faith-based broadcaster to offer an HDTV channel in 2007 and continues the move into all-HD production with the addition of the C248. The TBN production facility in Tustin, CA, has also installed a C248 HD console. This is TBN’s fourth SSL C Series console.
