Sony, ABU Collaborate on Broadcasting Award
Sony Broadcast & Professional Pacific Asia (Sony BPPA) and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) are collaborating on the 2007 "ABU Broadcast Engineering Excellence Award".
The awards, now in their fifth year, recognise the "best and brightest performers in the business". According to the ABU, the award "is conferred on an individual to recognise contributions of an outstanding nature in broadcast engineering and in related disciplines".
In addition to a trophy, citation and life-time 'Distinguished Observer' status at ABU Technical Committee meetings, thanks to Sony, the winner will be entitled to a study tour of Sony's main research centre or another of Sony institution.
The award will be presented 3 November during the gala dinner at the 44th ABU General Assembly, which is being held in Tehran, Iran, 28 October–4 November.
