In an “open” email to the broadcast industry, Mark Aitken, Sinclair’s director for Advanced Technology, asked for assistance in pushing for over-the-air DTV receiver tuner performance consideration. “We are not looking simply for your support,” said Aitken. “We are asking that your issues and concerns be heard as well.”
The email addresses Sinclair’s Request For Partial Consideration (www. sbgi.net/dtv.html), which focuses on receiver noise figures, dynamic range, sensitivity, selectivity, and some minimal multipath equalization.
Aitken asked that broadcasters contact the FCC Commissioners and relevant staff “...in order for this petition to see the light of day...The issues surrounding the FCC tuner mandate define a huge part of our future. Take a few minutes, type out your thoughts on these and related/other receiver matters, and let your ideas and/or concerns be known.”
