Seagate, Rorke SAN Deployed On 'Cold Mountain'

published Motion picture and sound editor Walter Murch selected a Rorke Data Storage Area Network (SAN) powered by 1.2 TB of Seagate Cheetah disc drives for post-production editing of the film "Cold Mountain." The system was first built and configured by DigitalFilm Tree in Hollywood before being shipped to Romania for the shoot. The Galaxy 60 fibre channel SAN was used to handle data storage tasks from the film's 4, 900 takes, 830 daily rolls, 225 video tapes and 190 sound rolls.
