Scopus changes name

Scopus Network Technologies, based in Tel Aviv, Israel, has changed its name to Scopus Video Networks. The rebranding reflects the company’s evolution to supplying IT-centric products that facilitate the delivery of video over IP-based broadcast and broadband networks.

All of the company’s current locations and staff will remain intact.

Ovadia Cohen, Scopus’ co-founder and vice president of marketing, said that the company’s video networks would become more complex, placing extra burdens on bandwidth for HDTV, personalized content and mobile video services.

Scopus CEO, David Mahlab said that his company’s expertise and intellectual property in broadcast-quality video compression, decoding, processing and network management technologies will help them compete effectively going forward.
