Satellite Update

DirecTV Enterprises requested modification of its authorization for Ka-band satellite DirecTV 8 to relocate the space station from 100.75 degrees west longitude to 100.85 degrees WL. In a modification of its request for special temporary authority (STA) to operate a DBS satellite on Channels 23 and 24 at 61.5 degrees WL, EchoStar Satellite Operating Corp. requested suspension of programming restrictions previously imposed on its use of these channels at this location. The FCC granted ICO Satellite Services' request for an extension of approximately five months to complete construction of, launch and operate its ICO G1 satellite. The satellite will provide 2 GHz mobile satellite service communications. In granted the request, the FCC rejected opposition to the extension from Inmarsat.
