RedPost releases digital signage network pilot in Indiana

RedPost, a startup founded in February, recently provided more details to its product roadmap. The company plans to combine off-the-shelf hardware; Linux, Firefox and other open source software; industry standards; and a custom designed and manufactured case to reach lower-revenue colleges and universities and hotel chains.

To test it's digital signage philosophy, RedPost developed a pilot program, RedPost/Goshen, a network of 10 digital signs located in prominent spots throughout the city of Goshen, IN, that display posters for upcoming arts, entertainment, cultural and educational events. The company cited a 2007 iSuppli report that projected the overall digital signage market to grow to $14.6 billion by 2011 as evidence of the burgeoning demand that will eventually entail its target customer segments.
