Quartz will supply its routing equipment for an expansion of Sumners, the only known 24-hour production house in the United Kingdom outside of London. The company's multi-format Xenon Router, configured 32x32 HD and 64x64 Serial Digital Video, and two 32x32 Analog Topaz Routers, will feed five new Avid edit suites and a new graphics area, a Da Vinci HD grading suite, and a Pro-Tools Dolby-E Surround Sound Dubbing Theatre, according to Quartz.
The kit also feeds links for Sumner's existing facilities and studios. Starting the expanded operations this week, the new Quartz equipment is being supplied through Mitcorp U.K. Limited, a dealer in broadcast professional products. The equipment was installed by U.K. systems integrator Pure AV. Sumners have been using Quartz equipment for its round-the-clock HD-SD operations for more than eight years.
