Planar Systems reduces price of Dome Diagnostic Displays

Flat panel display system provider Planar Systems recently slashed the prices of its Dome Diagnostic Display product by close to 50 percent. In addition, the company announced reseller agreements with several companies including CDW, Dell and Richardson Electronics, as well leading medical equipment and software providers. The company claims that its high-resolution monitors are easier for medical professionals to obtain than ever.

Dome Diagnostic Display monitors are used to display clear and detailed diagnostic and referral quality radiological images that can be accessed anywhere within a healthcare network. The product is available in 2-, 3- and 5-megapixel resolution, and in grayscale and full-color displays. Dome Displays also come with Dome CXtra software. This hardware/software package reduces the total cost of ownership of displays and enables administrators and IT staff to easily monitor display performance and calibration from a central location using industry-standard interfaces.

Dome displays are part of a movement within the medical industry towards flat-screen and high-resolution images and away from film-based images. High-resolution images enable greater precision and accuracy in identifying and treating patients’ medical issues.
