Israel-based Optibase, Ltd.--provider of digital video encoding and streaming technology--has completed its previously announced acquisition of Massachusetts-based NLE provider Media 100 for $2.5 million. These assets include Media 100's 844/X, Media 100 HD, Media 100 i and other content design products.
Optibase will expand its product line, add new customers and channel partners, add 40 engineers from Media 100 and build on its sales and marketing staff, according to Tom Wyler Chairman and CEO of Optibase who said he was very excited about completing the acquisition.
"The Media 100 acquisition will allow us to leverage our experience in digital video to add editing and compositing solutions to our already wide range of applications," Wyler said.
Optibase provides professional editing, compositing, encoding, decoding, video server upload and streaming technology for telecom operators, service providers, broadcasters and content creators.
