OmniBus iTX as Best Technology for 2007, Says AIB

OmniBus' iTX won the 2007 "Gear of the Year" award presented by the Association for International Broadcasting (AIB) at its Media Excellence Awards in London.

The awards celebrate technology and productions that demonstrate excellence in broadcasting across national boundaries.

The panel of 16 judges from media companies around the world commended iTX for its approach to production and playout, noting that "this solution is scalable and integrates a great number of functions allowing multi-skilled operators to take control".

The judges were also particularly impressed by the energy-saving potential iTX offers to a wide range of broadcasters and media organizations. The Gear of the Year Award is the only technology innovation award offered by the AIB.

Since its launch in 2006, OmniBus iTX has been adopted by broadcasters such as CBS, DirecTV, Chellomedia, Turner Broadcast, CNN and by media organizations such as Microsoft. Broadcasters and facilities houses providing services to multinational audiences, like NDTV in India and Videohouse in Belgium, use iTX to provide efficient customization of channels with the addition of local content and branding into program schedules.
