nVision Prepares to Take on Asian Market, Selects China Mgr.

nVision appointed industry veteran Annie Shi to the newly created position of country manager of China, based in Beijing. A graduate of Zhejiang University, she had been with broadband company ADC for over five years working in the Chinese broadcast and media markets.

The company's international marketing manager said her appointment will help to establish the nVision brand in China as the country prepares to host the Summer Olympics of 2008. "The territory is our top international priority. Many of our direct competitors do not have a company employee in mainland China. I have a wealth of personal contacts throughout the industry I can draw on...With a regional office in the heart of the Chinese broadcast community, we can be on the ground supporting the new systems as they are installed," said Shi.

China is seen as an important market for nVision equipment, as the country's broadcasters have already begun a DTV conversion program, due for completion in 2008. Acquisition and broadcast of the 2008 Olympics is being planned in HDTV. "While we may be half a year away from delivering and commissioning specific systems in the territory, we need to be in place to take advantage of these unique opportunities," said Shi.
