Japanese mobile TV service provider NHK Technical Services Inc. (NTS) has installed a Miranda Imagestore master control and channel branding processor and a Presmaster 2 control panel.
Miranda's Imagestore processor provides NTS with two multilevel keying levels for inserting animations or still graphics for mobile TV channel branding. A Presmaster 2 panel is used for manual operation of switching and branding, and provides operators with full video and audio previewing. NTS is also using six Miranda DVP-101i SDI video processors.
Now users of MobaHO!, a digital satellite broadcasting service in Japan, can access NHK General TV and other programs via their mobile devices through Mobile.n channel that features channel branding inserted by the Imagestore system.
Kenzo Muroi of NTS, which operates Mobile.n channel playout, said, "We are very pleased with the graphics capabilities and playout functionality of the Miranda system, especially at such an affordable setup cost. The operators used the equipment for covering the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament and Hanshin Tigers Baseball Games via Mobile TV this year."
