NMT’s venue services group names new president

Venue Services Group (VSG), a wholly-owned systems integration subsidiary of National Mobile Television, has Dave Shaw as its new president. A longtime employee at the Madison Square Garden Network (MSG), Shaw brings a wealth of technology experience to his new post.

Shaw served 23 years at the Madison Square Garden Network (MSG), most recently as senior vice president of Technical Operations.

During his tenure at MSG, Shaw oversaw sports coverage of baseball, basketball, hockey and soccer for all of the New York professional teams, using such technologies as video servers, robotic cameras, super slo-mo systems, unique camera views, digital disc recorders, blimp coverage and Spanish audio on the SAP channel.

After overseeing the build of MSG’s HD infrastructure and mobile production trucks for Madison Square Garden in 1998, he brought the technology to MSG’s sister channel Fox Sports New York (FSNY) in 1999.

Shaw will be based in the New York area, though a specific location has not yet been chosen, that is separate from NMT’s offices.
