New Web site offers visitors info on open TV channels

Online spectrum marketplace vendor Spectrum Bridge has created ShowMyWhiteSpaces.com, a new Web site to help visitors find open TV channels in any U.S. location.

Given the sensitivity of broadcasters over last year’s FCC rulemaking authorizing the introduction on unlicensed devices into the TV band, it seemed appropriate to find out a little more about the site.

Specifically, where was Spectrum Bridge getting its data; how would it keep that data up to date, especially as relates to itinerant wireless mic use; and what provisions, if any, would the site make to identify potential first and second adjacent-channel interference hazards? Rick Rotondo, co-founder and CMO of Spectrum Bridge, addressed these questions and more.

His answers are presented in a podcast.
