Swiss-based content protection technology provider Nagravision has partnered with Microsoft (opens in new tab) to provide the secure reception of digital pay-TV programs on personal computers and devices running Microsoft Windows--Xbox 360 and portable media centers.
Part of the agreement entails a plan for joint marketing and business development activities.
The companies demonstrated a proof-of-concept device at IBC that showed CANAL + Group's TV programs being securely broadcasted through Nagravision's conditional access system before being securely "bridged" into Microsoft's digital rights management content protection technology to enabled authorized access on Windows Media Center PCs and related gear.
