NABA Salutes Eddie Fritts

Eddie Fritts will be honored by the North American Broadcasters Association.

The organization is a nonprofit made up of organizations in the United States, Mexico and Canada; it will salute the former president and CEO of NAB. He’ll receive the International Achievement Award on Feb. 26 during its event in Atlanta.

NABA cited Fritts’ role as a catalyst for the 1996 Telecommunications Act; his efforts to modernize and expand the NAB; passage of the 1992 Cable Act; passage of legislation that “rolled back an FCC low-power FM initiative;” elimination of the Fairness Doctrine, and passage of legislation allowing satellite companies to deliver local TV stations.

Fritts now runs The Fritts Group consulting organization.
