NABA honors Cramer for work to protect journalists
By TVTechnology published
The North American Broadcasters Association (NABA) March 7 recognized Chris Cramer, executive VP and managing director of CNN International, for his commitment to the safety and welfare of journalists worldwide.
Honored during the closing dinner at its annual general meeting and conference in Mexico City, Cramer was presented with the association's International Achievement Award.
In the early 1990s, Cramer became an industry advocate for both post traumatic stress disorder counseling and safety training for journalists working in hostile environments.
Cramer was instrumental in the creation of INSI, the International News and Safety Institute, which promotes safety training, materials and assistance to journalists and media staff.
