MOG makes MXF more user-friendly

MOG Solutions, a specialist in MXF metadata technology, plans to demonstrate at IBC ways to make it easier to handle metadata in tapeless video workflows.

Material eXchange Format (MXF) is the file interchange format defined by SMPTE to address metadata requirements in broadcast and production environments. MOG creates software tools designed to make it easier for broadcasters to use MXF in both SD and HD video files.

During IBC, MOG said it would show “a revolutionary approach” for handling metadata with a simple laptop computer, “allowing significantly cost-effective solutions for the production and archive of material.”

The company said it was not only helping leading manufacturers implement real-world MXF solutions, but had also gained experience in how to help broadcasters make the best possible use of file-based interoperable solutions.
