Mansion Mobile Chooses Grass Valley Cameras

Mansion Mobile Television is equipping its new HD mobile television production vehicle with 11 Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite high-definition cameras.

The 53-foot vehicle is currently under construction and Mansion’s schedule calls for it to be ready for an April unveiling at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. The truck will allow Mansion to produce twice as many live events as before, including sports and entertainment shows. In addition to 720p and 1080i, the Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elites also acquire in 24p.

"By supporting productions shot in 24 frames per second, we’ve made this truck very entertainment friendly, though we’ll continue to produce sporting events as well," said Dave Goodman, Vice President of Engineering for Mansion Mobile. "We initially thought that this type of equipment with a 24p option would be prohibitively expensive, but the price and value we’re getting from Grass Valley is very attractive to us for what we want to accomplish with this new truck. Now we’ll be able to grow our business and compete with anyone."

The production vehicle is also equipped with a Grass Valley 4 M/E Kalypso HD switcher. It features four Aux buses and numerous other options.

Mansion Mobile Television is headquartered in Branson, Mo. The new truck is being constructed by Diversified Systems, with operations in New York, San Jose, Seattle and Washington, D.C. The body was supplied by Calutech Mobile Solutions in Hammond, Ind.
