Linear Acoustic offers new coding gear for AACPlus
By TVTechnology published
Linear Acoustic has introduced an aacPlus surround-sound encoder and decoder to accommodate the Dolby E Metadata format directly throughout the broadcasting transmission chain.
The new components will simplify the integration of its range of encoders/decoders within existing broadcast environments, and speed the adoption of the aacPlus audio compression format for digital multichannel broadcasting.
The new products, the Aeromax-aacPlus professional encoder and decoder, utilize a proprietary data-reduction process designed by Coding Technologies, a provider of audio compression for digital broadcasting, mobile media and the Internet.
Coding Technologies' MPEG-4 aacPlus audio codec has been standardized across a variety of platforms as a compression format for digital audio, including DVB, MPEG, 3GPP and other international standards.
