La Francaise D'Images upgrades production capabilities at Paris studios

La Francaise D'Images, the TV production division of La Francaise des Jeux, is tightening production of its popular game shows.

The station has completed the installation of two new Studer Vista 8 digital audio production consoles at its Paris studios on top of an initial implementation of a 52-channel Vista 8 that was commissioned a year ago.

La Francaise des Jeux, a state-controlled organization, is responsible for television game shows such as the French National Lottery draws and the European lottery, Euro Millions, now played in nine countries. With payouts of up to $235 million in the Euro Millions game, levels of security and confidentiality are extremely high; two of the three studios at La Francaise D'Images are kept exclusively for the lottery draws, housing carefully calibrated equipment that is rarely moved.

In 2005, Studer's distributor in France, Audiopole, installed a Vista 8 in the largest of the three studios at La Francaise D'Images. The 2,300sq ft studio accommodates audiences of up to 250 for the game shows, and is also available for third-party program production. Handling a variety of productions from a spacious audio control room, it was the best venue in which to introduce the Vista 8, which replaced a Studer 963 console.
