KBS purchases Mistika range from Pixelution

KBS, Korean’s national broadcaster, has recently purchased several Mistika systems from Pixelution for two of its HD production departments.

Developed by Pixelution's partner S.G.O., Mistika has an integrated editing and compositing interface, advanced templating, scalable SAN and clustered rendering architecture.

The station purchased two separate Mistika SAN configurations. The first room is made up of a Mistika Zeus HD, Mistika Odin HD and two Mistika Totem postproduction systems configured with a 7TB SAN system.

The second room is made up of a Mistika Zeus HD, a Mistika Ra SD, and a Mistika Totem solution with a 4.5TB SAN. All of the Zeus, Odin, and Ra solutions run on SGI Tezro quad, dual, and single processor workstations, and the Totem clustered rendering solutions run on standard dual processor Xeon Linux-based machines.
