Mountain View, CA--Kasenna has purchased the business of ViewNow, a video-on-demand (VOD) programming, management, and marketing services company for cable and telco providers. The acquisition will enable Kasenna to offer the complete package of (VOD) infrastructure and applications along with VOD programming from leading studios and broadcasters.
ViewNow brings one of the industry's most extensive libraries of pre-packaged programming to IP TV operators through long-term agreements with major motion picture studios and other programming providers. In addition, ViewNow provides pre-packaged marketing materials, including bill inserts and TV ads, and the ViewTrak application that allows carriers and studios to track customers' event orders and activations in realtime.
The ViewNow business will become a division of Kasenna, and will operate from its current locations in Bend, OR and Santa Monica, CA. ViewNow president Steve Roberts will remain with the combined companies as president of Kasenna's new ViewNow division.
