Vizrt has sold more than 100 HD and SD graphics systems to Japanese television networks since a government ruling last year required broadcasters in three of the nation’s major cities to begin transmitting HD.

The country’s major broadcasters include NHK, TV Asahi, Nippon TV, TBS, MBS, YTV, Nagoya TV, Fuji TV and many others. The broadcasters now use the real-time broadcast graphics and virtual studio systems for live production applications.

About 30 Japanese broadcasters and production companies are using Vizrt’s HD and SD graphics systems for live applications, such as news, sports, entertainment, special event productions and election coverage. Virtual studio systems were sold to several Japanese sports programming producers, including Teletec, Technomax, Express and Take Systems.
