HDNet and 'The News Hour' to Report on India-Pakistan

HDNet and The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer is airing the second in a series of jointly produced hi-def World Report shows, this time focusing on the conflict between India and Pakistan.

The four half-hour episodes of the news series follow correspondent Simon Marks through India, Pakistan and the disputed region of Kashmir. The show examines the challenges facing Pakistani leader General Pervez Musharraf as he confronts growing domestic political troubles, will visit both sides of the line of control in Kashmir, talks to the deputy prime minister of India, L.K. Advani, and analyzes the current status of United States-India relations and how it has evolved since the Cold War.

The series began on Wednesday, August 14th at 8:00 p.m. and will air subsequent episodes on Wednesdays on HDNet's Channel 199. The NewsHour, which is broadcast week nightly on PBS, will broadcast a separate report.
