HDFest: HD Animation Showcase is Dec. 7

HDFest in Los Angeles plans to present a series of what sponsors are calling “some of the best new HD animation from around the world” during the festival event on Dec. 7. The High-Definition Animation sequence is scheduled for 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m. at Dolby Laboratories’ Larry Umlang Presentation Theatre II (3601 W. Alameda Ave. in Burbank).
The HD animation portion will include 16 set pieces created and produced by independent filmmakers and animators. Nations represented in the animation sequence include Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Paraguay, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States.
In the evening on Dec.7, the 2008 HDFest Deffie Award for Best Animation will be announced. The four-year old awards for the first time will include an HD animation category.
There have been nearly two dozen HDFest events around the world since 2000. The 2008 festival in L.A. is being presented by Intel.
