Harris ships new master control system

Based on the Leitch NEO signal processing modules, IconMaster combines master control functions with multi-layer branding tools.

Harris has announced the first sales and shipments of its new IconMaster system for master control since its introduction at the IBC conference last fall. It includes full master control and embedded multi-layer branding capabilities.

A number of new orders for IconMaster have been taken and equipment delivered to: CKSA-TV in Canada; WROC-TV and KKTV-11 in the United States; Viasat Sport in Sweden; Milan Channel in Italy; and the MM TV news channel in India.

Viasat Sport 1 uses IconMaster as both a master control and production switcher, according to Stefan Hammarlund, project manager, MTG Broadcast Centre.

Raymond Green, chief engineer for CKSA-TV's midwest broadcasting division, said IconMaster's multi-layer branding capabilities, have increased the station's capabilities as well as its on-air look.

Based on the Leitch NEO signal processing modules, IconMaster combines master control functions with multi-layer branding tools. The same frame can accommodate other advanced applications, such as the Leitch NEO SuiteView multiviewer series or the NEO XHD up-, down-, cross- and multi-path converter series, to create the ultimate plug-and-play system.

The IconMaster system also supports internal routing using NEO routing modules and/or external routing with Leitch or third-party routers. The system supports all SD and HD formats in the field.

The Icon family of products and integrated applications for master control and branding also includes the IconStation graphics and channel presentation system, and IconLogo, a branding solution based on the NEO platform. The IconLogo system is field upgradeable from SD to HD and even to the full IconMaster system.
