Harris boosts media management with Marquis Medway

Harris has entered into an OEM agreement with Marquis Broadcast that will enable broadcasters to easily transfer digital data among their archives and third-party workstations and video servers. This unified integration helps facilitate the easy access, ingest, transfer, storage and playout of media to air.

The agreement enables Harris to integrate the Marquis Medway Media Highway software within the Harris H-Class Intelligent Media Mover and Invenio H-Class Digital Asset Management systems. Medway allows media files to flow freely between disparate, third-party nonlinear editing (NLE) platforms, all from a single user interface. By integrating Medway within the H-Class systems, the Harris software now enables the seamless transfer of digital media and metadata assets.

The new integration allows broadcasters to search catalogued content within the Harris Invenio media archives and create instructions for moving SD/HD content from the Harris NEXIO server into other production environments, such as when using Apple Final Cut Pro editors in a standalone configuration or with Apple Xsan storage, or Avid editors with Unity.

Marquis Broadcast has completed the integration of Medway into the Harris asset management product line, and now offers ongoing product support to Harris customers. The integrated solution is available now through Harris' global distribution channels, with product installation provided by Harris.
