Globalstor Data unveils multiplatform IPTV system for audio production

Globalstor Data, a provider of high-performance RAID, SAN and storage/video servers, now offers the iTrax, with a wide range of servers designed and optimized for every level of professional audio recording.

Leveraging the same architecture as the ExtremeStor series of high-end servers, including a solid-state 64-bit iSCSI + NAS operating system, the iTrax extends the company’s line of ExtremeStor products by offering multiroom recording facilities a flexible, secure and competitively-priced solution that allows multiuser access to consolidated, centralized and fully searchable data.

Using an iSCSI initiator, the iTrax appears as a local disc drive on any computer connected to the LAN or WAN. Windows users can download the free Windows iSCSI initiator offered by Microsoft. Globalstor solutions can also be used as NAS (Network Attached Storage) servers in conjunction with iSCSI.

Once iSCSI initiators are loaded, every host system on the network can see and share all stored data. Engineers on separate workstations can simultaneously edit and mix different sessions stored on any iTrax server.

With the iTrax, audio professionals have centralized storage and retrieval at their fingertips. In addition, users can remotely log into sessions from anywhere in the world using any IP-based GUI.
